About

Kate is the person behind everything that happens at Lucky Stitch. She is an experienced designer-maker with a background in Fashion Textiles who has created a unique range of luxurious neck scarves.
The neckerchief scarves are knitted on one of her hand powered vintage knitting machines. There are several different scarf sizes and styles, all with a focus on high-quality Scottish spun lambswool.
Over the last few years the neck scarves have appeared in several fashion articles by The Guardian, The Telegraph and Stylist.
“…the knitted neckerchief always looks great and is small enough to fold into a blazer pocket so you don’t lose it. There are endless, gorgeous colours… “ The Guardian
After graduating from Brighton University, Kate designed and sold her fashion knitwear designs for many years across the UK, USA, Europe, and Japan.
She has created other stylish handmade accessories and homeware since 2004, including scarves, hats, cushions, hot water bottle covers, and lavender birds.
Kate has a big love of colour, even though she wears a lot of black!
She has been selling her work in person for over a decade, at Brighton Artist Open Houses and Maker's Markets, including Lichen House, Milton House, The Hidden House, Northern Lights, The Maker's Fair and Lewes Artist and Maker's Fair.
